Grants to these community groups focused on special needs children, building maintenance, scouts, youth mentoring, history in the county, communications and feeding the hungry. Total competitive grants awarded in 2012 equaled $47,642.00.

Linda Kangeter, CCF President, states: “The continued generosity of our donors has enabled the Foundation to support worthwhile projects throughout our County that can make a real difference in the lives of our residents.”

Recipients of grants awarded during this 2nd round of 2012 were: Lions Club of West Point (roof repairs), San Andreas Halloween Carnival, Calaveras County Senior Center (flooring and fire suppression system), Boy Scout Troop 302 (summer camp), food pantries in Moke Hill and Copperopolis, Calaveras Youth Mentoring (fingerprinting), Moke Hill Historical Community Trust (Living History Day), Harmony Ranch (therapeutic horseback riding activity for special needs children), Calaveras County Arts Council (artists in schools) and Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth and Families (community radio).

The Foundation, with this last round of funding, has awarded more than $650,000 in competitive grants, scholarships and assistance since its inception in 2000. Partnerships with both individual donors and area businesses allow CCF to touch more and more lives in this county through grants and scholarships.  Partners include: Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel, Umpqua Bank, Sierra Pacific Industries, Save Mart, Pacific Gas & Electric Company and the Federlein Family Fund at the San Francisco Foundation. Individuals and local businesses can establish funds or channel their charitable contributions through CCF.
