Sheriff Dept press release re: man arrested for burglary and resisting arrest San Andreas

On Sunday 6-17-12 at about 4:30pm, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Treats General Store in San Andreas for a report of an intoxicated male who was suspected of shoplifting alcohol and fleeing in a vehicle. Deputies were provided a description of the suspect, license plate number, and description of the vehicle.

Deputies located the vehicle and tracked the registered owner back to an apartment in San Andreas located at 441 E. St. Charles Street. Upon contact at the apartment, Deputies located Bobby Sanders (46), who matched the description of the suspect, as well as items that were suspected stolen from the store. During the investigation, Sanders reportedly became uncooperative and an altercation ensued between Sanders and the deputies. A Deputy deployed a Taser to Sanders to affect the arrest. Sanders was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Calaveras County Jail.
