When John Campanella came out on stage in a mullet style full wig, stretch zebra print leggings, black boots and a leather jacket, the crowd knew he was serious about his '70's and 80's sound. Some snickered at the pants - which by the way left little to the imagination - but it only took the first few seconds of the very first song to halt all teasing and laughter, because...John ROCKED!
Colored lights, haze filled air, computerized sound perfection and pulsing strobes added to the whole 'scene' that John had carefully orchestrated. But what '80's hair band is complete without back up singers.? Enter John's beautiful fiancee Dana and her good friend Martha - both with coiffed hair and sporting leather from head to toe with a little spandex thrown in for good measure - and the picture and sound was complete. Dana belted out her parts with great joy and a solid sound. Martha took the audience by surprise with at her at-once breathless yet gravely sound, reminiscent of the softer side of Steve Nicks.
If you missed the show, they will be back at the Sports Pub April 28, 2011 entertaining after the Murder Mystery Dinner. 785-4646
