On February 11, 2012, Angels Camp Police Officers made a traffic enforcement stop in the 300 block of S. Main St., on a vehicle driven by Randy J Aitken, 25 of Angels Camp. Aitken was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended California driver license.
The investigation led to the discovery of a reported stolen vehicle parked at Aitken’s residence, which was reported stolen by the Kyle, Texas Police Department. Additional investigation led to the recovery of illegal narcotics, firearms and live ammunition.
Aitken was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and live ammunition, possession of controlled substances, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended driver license.
The owner of the stolen vehicle has been contacted in Texas and is making arrangements to recover his vehicle.
