Matthew Gregory McCullough, born August 2, 1996, earned his wings November 27, 2011.

Matthew left us peacefully on Nov. 27, at the age of forever 15. He was surrounded by his loving family, and best friend Adrian Tennant. He fought a brave and brutal fight against medulloblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer. Matthew taught so many people in our community and around the world about patience, strength, and acceptance.

Through all he had to endure and suffer, he was always smiling, never complained, and never asked “Why me?”. He always wanted us to know he was ok, and always answered to everything “I’m good.”

Matthew attended Hazel Fischer Elementary School, Avery Middle School, and reached his dream of making it to Bret Harte High School where he was a sophmore. He loved game shows, playing games, hunting, fishing, camping, baseball, and football. His favorite teams were the Oakland A’s and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, and a trip to the Grand Canyon this past summer in the RV, but he was very much a home body.

Matthew and his family were able to take a cruise to Italy, Greece, and Turkey through the Make-A-Wish Foundation where they made beautiful memories that will last forever.

He will forever be missed by his loving parents Greg and Irene, his big brother Michael, Little sister Hannah, and lots of extended family and friends.

Sunday December 4, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hazel Fischer Elementary School in Avery, CA there will be a celebration of his life and the family would like to invite all who have been touched by Matt’s life to come share in his farewell.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to For the Love of Children in loving memory of Matthew Gregory McCullough. P.O. Box 866 Altaville, CA 95221
