'Rockin' Robin Raffle' to raise funds for the Calaveras Friends of the Library

ROCKIN’ ROBIN” CHAIR IS RAFFLE PRIZE

A unique and original chair, designed by a local artist, has been designated by the Calaveras Friends of the Library to be the prize in a county-wide raffle. The rocking chair, with amazing construction and colorful detail, is in the form of a stylized robin.  It was crafted by local artist, Pete Kelly.
The chair is a gift to the Friends of the Library by members Doug and Marilyn Hinsdale and Glenna Larson, who successfully bid on it at a Chairs for Charity fundraiser.

Raffle tickets are now available for one dollar each at the main San Andreas Library and all seven branches.  Maurie Hoekstra, County Library Director, said that the chair is “functional as well as beautiful”.  The proceeds from the raffle go to the Calaveras Friends of the Library, a non-profit organization which supports the County Library system by its members generously sharing their time, talents and donations to ensure continuing library services to the public.
The drawing and winner notification for this “rocking” piece of art will be held in mid-October.   Questions regarding the raffle should be directed to 754-6701.
