Fueling the new literary Renaissance of writing and publishing in the Mother Lode and Sierra, Manzanita Writers Press and Ironstone Vineyards are hosting a large, free literary festival in the foothills of Murphys on Saturday, August 13, from 11AM to 4 PM at the Heritage Room at Ironstone Vineyards. The public will help celebrate the explosion of new writing in our region. Calaveras' own Writers Unlimited members and the broader spectrum of Manzanita Writers who have written in the Manzanita publications over the years, will share their new writing with the audience. Mother Lode, Sierra, San Joaquin and Sacramento Valley, Yosemite and El Dorado Writers will showcase their new works. There will be music, fine words and laughter emanating from the Heritage Room, with winetasting at the nearby tasting room,  and wine sold by the glass at the reading, and all manner of merry-making to celebrate Manzanita writers' new works and foothill authors' writing. Writing networks from across California are being invited to participate.

Manzanita writers and friends are invited to participate in the scheduled afternoon readings, signings, and networking with the public, writers and friends. Open mic time is scheduled for the public to strut their poetic talent! The public is invited to bring a poem or two to share with the audience in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Authors will have their books available for the public at the book table.
