Baby delivered at Copper Fire Station

She woke out of a dead sleep with pain in her belly.

But 25-year-old Allisan Con-treras wasn’t fazed. She knew what to expect this time around, and took the contractions from her second child in stride.

At 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, she woke her husband, Richard, but by the time they dropped their eldest daughter, 2-year-old Kaitlyn, and their dog off with her parents, Allisan knew she wouldn’t make it to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
“When we got to Diamond XX, my body started pushing,” she recalled.

With no time to get to a hospital – and a real possibility their daughter would be born in the car – Richard rushed Allisan to the Copperopolis Fire Protection District station.
