Copperopolis Lions Club Awards Scholarships to Three Amazing Copperopolis Seniors

The Copperopolis Lions Club, following a long history of supporting education, awarded three one thousand dollar scholarships at last weeks scholarship awards night at Bret Harte High School to graduating Copperopolis seniors.
The recipients were Sarah Kraemer, Elysa Schulte, and Alex Stoeber.

Sarah Kraemer was recently accepted to Sacramento State in the Music Performance field of study and will be the class of 2015. She has been strongly influenced by theater, music and the arts. Her acting career while at Bret Harte included roles in the Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Damn Yankees, and her debut as writer/director of Senior Project play Se Terminer. Most recently Sarah was a Miss Calaveras princess.

Elysa Schulte's choice is College of the Sequoias where she hopes to study Ag/Pre-Vet. Spending much of her off time participating in community events and funds raisers Elysa recently proved she had 'the right stuff' when it came to her senior project. She and best friend Samantha Baxter organized, hosted, and pulled off the Copperopolis Spring Fling Dinner Dance benefitting the Copper Parks & Recs, raising over $4000 for Kids Camp.

Alex Stoeber is planning on attending Stanford University to study Law, motivated by his internship in a law frim in Turlock over the summer, leaning towards public law to help " those in need that cannot help themselves." While at Bret Harte Alex was the ASB Vice President, the BH Chapter California Scholarship Federation V.P., active in the Spanish Honor Society, the Academic Decathalon and was on the Model UN team while being involved in the Politically Aware Students club. He was involved in soccer his senior year, making it to the playoffs. On a lighter note, his senior project was to learn how to prepare Italian food, mentored by Patricia Elligton, owner of Bristol's Cafe. He then volunteered at Foothill Village presenting what he had learned.

Congratulations Sarah, Elysa, and Alex.
