Calaveras Wine Alliance 15th Annual Passport Weekend - Frog's Tooth Vineyard on the Itinerary

Copperopolis' own Frog's Tooth Vineyards has shed its tadpole status and is hopping in the big leagues now.
After winning 8 medals at this years Calaveras County Fair, Frog's Tooth Vineyards has earned its place among the best wineries in Calaveras County.
This weekend Frog's Tooth Vineyards will be participating in a two day wine event hosted by the Calaveras Wine Alliance dubbed the 'Passport Weekend.' This two day event highlights not only the finest wines our county has to offer, but music and culinary delights at each and every passport stop along the route.

CWA’s 15th annual Passport Weekend arrives with verve June 24 to 26, and you won’t want to miss all the worldly culinary creations, barrel samplings, special discounts, fine art, live music, drawings, scenic venues…well, let’s not stop there. More offerings than ever before! Here’s a sampling of what you’ll find at all CWA member wineries from A to Z.
Allegorie Tasting and Art Gallery, Murphy’s newest tasting room, pairs fine art with fine wines, alongside sweet and savory crepe hors d’oeuvres. Black Sheep Winery is serving its signature grilled delights with great wine discounts ($50 case deals!). Enjoy the eclectic tunes of the Four Guides at Brice Station Vineyards Saturday from 3 to 6 and the Golden Palette Art Show both days. Broll Mountain Vineyards will serve special treats from Wren Catering along with their 100% estate wine varietals.
Chatom Vineyards says this is no time for a siesta, but definitely a fiesta with special discounts, live music and fiesta-inspired appetizers. Passport holders will enjoy a 30% discount on case purchases at Coppermine, another newbie on the burgeoning roster of wine tasting rooms in Calaveras. This weekend Chiarella offers Tuscan appetizers, discounts and opps to win great prizes.
Frog’s Tooth Winery proffers pre-release tastings both days with LunaFish rocking the courtyard on Saturday. Hatcher is dishing up live crawfish along with Zinfandel-Marinated Steak Sandwich and salad. To the delight of passporters, Grecian appetizers such as Leg of Lamb and Greek salads occupy Ironstone Vineyard’s North Deck. Lavender Ridge opens its Artisan Cheese Market for a custom cheese pairing with their fabulous Rhone varietals. Metate Hill invites you to a taste of Spain with Spanish varietals paired with Spanish cheeses, and live music from 2 to 4 p.m. both days. Sit by Milliaire Winery’s babbling creek with some delicious food and wine available for purchase at wine club prices.
Check out Newsome-Harlow’s new restaurant “The Kitchen,” and enjoy wine club discounts on impeccable wines, alongside 2008 barrel samples of three Zinfandels. Visit Renner Winery’s new tasting room, a lovingly restored and stylishly revamped Victorian house on Main, and enjoy festive food and wine pairings. Get a taste of the Oliveto Family’s secret recipe of Rib Eye Steak Sandwiches at Stevenot Wines, and enjoy live music and wine club discounts.
Tanner Vineyards honors their family’s migration to Vallecito in the 1870s with a delicious taste of Italy paired with some great wine discounts. Rueben the Rubber Chicken and his seriously twisted minions will be preparing their very own spicy tri-tip grill with more fixin’s that you can fit in a tortilla at Twisted Oak, with barrel samplings and previews of coming attractions.
Visit Jamaica at Val Du Vino Winery with Jeannine’s famous Smoked Jerked Pork and Spooned Sweet Corn Pudding with Black Bean Salsa paired with newly-released Spanish Dragon. Vina Moda is hosting a special wine tasting bar for passport holders replete with music, delectable eats and the opp to purchase rare library wines. Hand-made truffles and glorious wines are the draw at Wild Heart’s Tasting Room, along with hearty wine discounts.
