"Fund Faire" to Benefit Friends of the Calaveras Library

Friends Of The Library to Hold “FUND Faire”
                                in San Andreas

The Friends of the Calaveras Library are planning a fundraising event with something for everyone on May 6th and 7th.  The event begins on Friday featuring a Preview Book Sale with BBQ and beverages offered by the San Andreas Lions Club.   It’s a perfect opportunity for residents, tourists and lunch hour visitors to enjoy a peaceful “bite and browse” while appreciating the Library’s tranquil grounds.

Saturday will be a change of pace.  The day kicks off with a strolling guitarist adding ambiance to the Bazaar of unique items created for sale by artists and crafters.  While the Book Sale and Book Appraisals continue, other events include a free child Car Seat Inspection by the California Highway Patrol, Healthy Living Advice from representatives of Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital, and awarding of Raffle Prizes.  The Faire continues with free Child ID Kits/Safety Information provided by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department and Assistance from The Resource Connection.  Work up an appetite for more delicious Lions Club BBQ while getting Fire Prevention Tips from CAL Fire and interacting with adorable, Adoptable Pooches and Kitties.

In addition to providing a fun experience, the Calaveras Friends of the Library, a non-profit organization, is on a mission to raise funds through the sale of books to help keep all of the Library Branches operating and to continue the Adult Literacy Program.

The event that promises something for everyone will take place from 10 AM to 3 PM on both days at the San Andreas Library.
