Angels Camp is suffering the loss of a young man by the name of Tyler Orsow this morning.
Tyler was one of four occupants of a private plane that crashed in the United Arab Emirates immediately after take off at the Al Ain Airport. The McKinnin G-12 turbo prop seaplane was owned by Triple S Aviation and piloted by Tyler.
The Associated Press reported that the plane was owned by Triple S. Aviation, a private company based out of Texas. All four people on the plane died, including pilot Tyler Orsow, Triple S Aviation owner and General Manager Landon Studer, Joshua Hucklebridge, the company's project manager, and Nevada pilot Charles Kimes. The cause of the crash is unknown.
The US Embassy released a statement of condolence yesterday.
“On behalf of the government and people of the United States, the US Mission to the United Arab Emirates extends its deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the crash in Al Ain on February 27. Our thoughts are with the loved ones of those who perished in last night’s tragic event.”
At the 2005 Merced West Coast Antique Fly in Tyler won the award for youngest certificated pilot at 19 years 4 months, flying a Piper PA 18 Super cub.
