According to the outgoing Chairman of the Calaveras County Library Commission Sheila Neal, she was notified on January 20, 2011 that she would no longer be remaining on the commission. The information was given to her by someone other than Supervisor Spellman. Sheila did submit paperwork to remain on the commission, her term officially ended December 31, 2010, stating "this is something I truly believe in and I am very worried about the fate of our library system with the budget issues the county and state have been facing."
With the news that she had not been re-appointed, Sheila has now indicated that she "would now like to be a member at large - but we will have to see who the supervisors choose to appoint."
