On December 11 2010 at the Stockton Arena, Stockton Thunder Hockey proved their muster to a crowd of 8330 fans with a 3-2 victory over the Utah Grizzlies, breaking the Grizzlies winning streak on the road. The game was the final at home game for the Thunder before the Holiday break.
While hockey is mostly a game of skill and endurance it also is well known for its more violent side. This evening’s game was no exception to the rule with penalties ranging from fighting (a fist fight included) to roughing and misconduct, creating a grand total of 120 minutes in penalty times combined for both teams.
Stockton Thunder began in 2005 quickly becoming a gemstone in the Central Valley Sports arena proudly boasting affiliations with Worcester, San Jose and NHL Edmonton Oilers. From 2007 to 2010 Thunder has appeared in four consecutive Kelly Cup Playoffs.
